The concert held at the Työväentalo was a wonderful experience for the singers and the fully packed audience. The first part consisted mainly of Finnish worker´s songs. The second part consisted of music composed by Mikis Theodorakis, Bulat Okudzava and Violeta Parra and folk songs from the Czech Republic and Finland. Additionally there were many compositions, arrangements and translations made by Kaj Chydenius with whom the choir has worked for tens of years. The soloists were Milka Metsäpolku and Irene Kallio. The choir was accompanied by Anne-Maria Tokola (piano), Mika Naapanki (kitara) ans Ville Honkakoski (djembe). When the concert was over the singers experienced something they are not used to as the audience gave a standing ovation.
This is an excellent way to continue the Lumisalmi concert on Pekanpäivä.
